"But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honor, and some to dishonor. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work." 2 Timothy 2:20-21

Prayer Request
--Update--
Grandma did have a heart attack, and is currently in ICU. She is doing better this afternoon, was able to eat breakfast and lunch. She didn't sleep well, if at all, last night, and is resting a LOT this afternoon.
We are so thankful that she is still with us. It looks like she'll need a stint in one of her main arteries. That surgery could take place later this week.
Thank you for the prayers!!

Would you join us...
Please pray:
- That the surgery goes well, without any complications
- That she'll be protected from any infections during her surgery, from the prostheses or her hospital stay
- That she recovers quickly and fully
- That her time in the hospital would be a time of restful recovery and encouragement
- That she would do well in the rehab center
- That she would be free from pain
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.Philippians 4:6-7

Sanctity of Life Sunday
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them."
(Genesis 1:26-27 ESV)
you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them."
(Psalm 139:13-16 ESV)
the fruit of the womb a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
are the children of one's youth.
Blessed is the man
who fills his quiver with them!
He shall not be put to shame
when he speaks with his enemies in the gate."
(Psalm 127:3-5 ESV)
(Malachi 4:5-6 ESV)
(Matthew 19:14 ESV)

Update on Grandpa
Update: Grandpa is on a ventilator as of this afternoon since he was struggling to breath on his own. He is in critical condition, and right now to be honest, it looks pretty grim from a human perspective. They are talking about surgery to help with his infection, but he is very weak, and we are just not sure. Please continue to lift Grandpa up before the Father, the Great Physician! And pray for Grandma too, she is under a LOT of stress, and is tired.
Thank you a million times over everybody!!!

Please pray
![]() |
He was hospitalized last week due to the fact that he was feeling very unwell. And now he is is rehab for 20 days, but he seems so weak and vulnerable. He fell this afternoon, thankfully nothing was broken, only a small scrap, but he was bruised and tired.
Our visit was short as he wanted to rest, but nice and he tried to talk but his voice was so weak and his throat dry which made communication difficult. He wants us to come and see him everyday. I don't know if we'll be able to see him that often, but we do need to come down and spend every precious moment we possibly can.
Here's how you can pray:
- That Grandpa would have an appetite and would eat heartily of every meal and snack so that he can gain strength.
- That Grandpa would be able to get rest during the day and sleep at night to revitalize his body, mind and soul.
- That Grandpa would be enthused about his physical therapy.
- That God would be nearer and dearer to Grandpa and Grandma during these difficult days of transition.
- That Grandma would be able to continue with strength and comfort her regular schedule and not worry about Grandpa, have long and restful sleep at night, and great days! That Grandpa would also have great days, even while he is separated from the rest of his family.
- That Grandpa would be able to come home soon and be in better spirits when he does.
- That all our family would come together and be a strong support for Grandpa and Grandma.
- That God would give peace to all of us, and wisdom so that we would make the best decision to help Grandpa and his health issues.

Chivalry is Dead, So They Say
I'm a little confused.
Yesterday I happened across a news story that puzzles me.
Worst date ever: Boyfriend bails as foul ball hits girlfriend
At a Houston Astros ball game, a spectator jumped out of the way of a ball that was hit into the stands. Nothing unusual there. But the rub is that the ball struck his girlfriend. The story gives him a hard time about not doing the chivalrous thing by throwing himself in the way to protect her.
So they're saying chivalry is officially dead.
I think I know who or what killed it.
Feminism.
In general, the media promotes feminism - equal rights for the women. Equal pay. Equal job opportunities. Equal treatment, even to the point of serving in combat. And please don't open the door for the woman. Thank you very much, she's strong. She can do that for herself.
So why is the media in this case giving a guy grief for treating his girlfriend as a feminist? She's a big girl. Let her take care of herself.
Let's be consistent here. Ladies, you can't have it both ways. You can't be the Helen Reddy lion, roaring, and expect to be protected by the very men you scorn.
After thinking about it, maybe this isn't about disgruntled women who want protection. Maybe this is another instance of media male-bashing. Have you ever noticed that the TV shows, the movies, the ads on the radio nearly always portray the woman as the smart one and the guy as a perfect dolt.
That is counter to God's design. Read Genesis 1. Adam was very smart. The New Testament talks repeatedly about wives honoring husbands as the heads of household. Feminists hate those passages. But those verses in no way demean the woman. It's a matter of who is going to be in charge. And, are we going to follow God's design. Women can be smart and Biblically submissive. And men definitely need to be intelligent to lead a family in a way that pleases the Lord. Even though I'm a woman (and fairly intelligent), I guess I'm just standing up for the underdog here. I'm sick of the male-bashing.
My fellow Christian women, I'm challenging you/me to treat our husbands like the smart guys God designed them to be. If they act stupid, maybe it's because we expect it or we tell them they're stupid. Let's honor our husbands and our fathers. Let's show the world that the Lord's ways are higher and nobler and satisfying. And instead of criticizing our husbands every time they goof up, let's pray for them. They've got a tough job. One day they will stand before the Lord and give account for how they took care of and led their wives and children.

After the April 2nd, 2009, G-20 Meeting it is a Whole New World Order and Americans Just Lost a Ton of Freedoms
After the April 2nd, 2009, G-20 Meeting it is a Whole New World Order and Americans Just Lost a Ton of Freedoms. Topic One: Prime Minister Gordon Brown said the “New World Order is emerging” at the G-20 meeting. Topic Two: Dick Morris explains the economic global governance that the G-20 has just instituted. America is now subject to G-20 central bankers as well as the European dominated International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Financial Stability Board (FSB) that will oversee America’s regulatory boards, banks and the compensation packages of U.S. corporations. Free enterprise in America just took a huge hit. Topic Three: Dick Morris explains how Chairman Obama is acting like he is trying to fix the banking problems while he sabotages his own plan. This way Chairman Obama can say he tried to fix the problem but it is so bad that he must nationalize the banks. Topic Four: Why has America just put itself under the control of European Socialists? Did we not fight a revolution to free ourselves from them? Our Founders sacrificed their sacred honors, fortunes and lives for our freedom and now a corrupt brood of vipers known as Republicans and Democrats, who are Fabian Socialists, have trashed our U.S. Constitution, national sovereignty and free-enterprise system. Let’s not forget that Obama had the help of G.W. Bush who gave the reins of our economy over to the E.U. during their G-20, economic summit at the White House meeting in November of 2008. G.W. did some heavy lifting for Obama. Topic Five: The Bible says there will be many little anti-christs before the real anti-christ is revealed. So why does Obama fit the Biblical description of a “little” anti-Christ?

Thanksgiving Happenings
Phoebe, Johanna, Dad, Joel, Caleb and I were in the kitchen from 8:30 until around 4:00 yesterday afternoon. The meal consisted of: Italian vegetable casserole, risotto rice, sweet potato surprise, German cabbage salad, turkey, pumpkin pies, garbanzo beans and rice dish, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing and later on ice-cream! It was quite a spread, and we were all stuffed pretty quickly.
One of the reasons we made so much food, is because we were helping some long time friends who are currently going through some real difficulties, needing a helping hand. They were able to enjoy their own Thanksgiving meal as a family.
After the afternoon meal, we cleaned up and then gathered around to watch Amazing Grace with Dad and Joel (who'd as yet, not seen it), which we all thoroughly enjoyed (we still have about 30-40 minutes left). We had invited our cousin Reece to drop by on his way back home to Roanoke, and he did! We had not seen him in several months, and it was great having a time of fellowship with him. He ate a late dinner with us and had dessert before heading out.
At the conclusion of our afternoon meal, we had a time where we shared what we've been blessed by and who / what we're thankful for. Of course, we could spend all day everyday to say 'thank you' and still not even get to the bottom of it all. It was like having a worship service, and I am grateful to Dad for directing us in that time of thanksgiving and praise.
We pray that your day was blessed to the max! This Sunday (the 30th) is our church's annual Blessing Count Sunday, I'm personally looking forward to participating and hearing all of the Providential ways He provides for our every need!
30 I will praise the name of God with a song;I will magnify him with thanksgiving.

Things we're thankful for:
- For Christ and His saving grace in our lives
- The Bible, God's infallible Word, living and abiding, sharper than any two-edged sword
- Creation Apologetics, and ministries like Answers in Genesis who are proclaiming God's word from the Beginning
- Family, friends and the opportunity to minister to those who have need
- America, and the freedoms we still have to enjoy and rejoice in
- Church and the assembling of fellow Christians to study His Word, praise His name and become better equipped for His cause
- Technology which allows us to reach around the globe and touch people with the Good News
- The wonderful house we are enjoying and blessed to live in, our 3 wonderful vehicles and the way the Lord provides for our daily needs
- Mom and her being with us, after major health problems and the recovery process she's in
- God's beautiful creation and that we get to enjoy it each and every day
That is just the tip of the ice-berg! God has so richly blessed us beyond all that we could ask or even imagine! All praise is His!

Mary Ellen Hall remembered~
Ralph Hall's wife of 60 years, Mary Ellen passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2008.
Congressman Hall was with her during this time and as most of you are aware, Mary Ellen had suffered a very long debilitating illness.
Tentative arrangements have been made for Friday Aug. 29 at the Methodist Church in Rockwall. I will forward the final arrangements as soon as I can confirm the times and address.
Congressman Hall has appreciated all of your prayers for both him and Mary Ellen. And I'm sure would appreciate your continued prayers on his and his family's behalf during this time of sadness and loss.
