Passion Week: Selected Readings 1

Today I would like to share with you two significant passages speaking of Christ's passion.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence," Ephesians 1:7-8

And also in Ephesians we read:

For He Himself is our peace who has made both one, and has has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father." Ephesians 2:14-18

Christ is our Peace, Righteousness, and Mediator. Praise His name this Easter!

Jobs of a Godly Wife/Mother

I had as an assignment for High School (I'm using Far Above Rubies) to make a collection of photos that show the different tasks of a full time homemaker. I thought I'd share it with you. As you know, these are not even all of the tasks a full time homemaker has, but just a tiny fraction of them! Thank you to Johanna for being my model for the pictures.

Along with that assignment, I was supposed to see how much a homemaker's yearly salary would be if she was paid for each task she did. My very ruff estimate was: $360,984. She would be a millionaire in 10 years! :) Of course, she isn't paid for any of the work she does.

Also, I found out that the average salary for women in the US today is: $32,500~.

The point of my little assignment was to see if being a full time homemaker is more productive than working a 'normal job' (as most women do now-a-days). What do you think?

I also found (as I had noticed before) that you can be a nurse, chef, maid, teacher, seamstress, manager, dietitian, counselor, referee, law enforcer, judge and entertainer just by being a mother/wife! Is that boring, or what?!

With regard to our unsettled habits, and government schools

"Had any of the real rustics [of the region] remained, he would probably have found some lingering legend of Mr. Prior, however remote he might be. But the new nomadic population of clerks and artisans, constantly shifting their homes from one suburb to another, or their children from one school to another, could have no corporate continuity. They had all that forgetfulness of history that goes everywhere with the extension of education." - G.K. Chesterton, THIRTEEN DETECTIVES ("Hole in the Wall", p. 115)
