Well, our conference is now behind us! Whew....  It was a blessing to meet so many new people and to visit with friends! :)

Visit

We had a superb time yesterday at the Martins' home. They are such gracious hosts (and great cooks)!! It was a very enjoyable visit with lively discussions, food, and photos.  I am sorry there are not more photos-- we were all very busy visiting and all that!

We had taco pile-ups for dinner, which were very delicious! Our whole family is a fan of Tex-Mex.

A Special Lunch

Yesterday we were very glad to have the Jobe Martin family over for lunch.  Dr. Jobe has spoken at our two creation conferences, Answering Darwin, in February 2009 and Evolution: Trick or Treat, in November 2009.   After those conferences we have visited them at their home two times, including having lunch with them this past spring.  So, we decided it was time to get together again, and we would be the hosts.

We had a wonderful time yesterday, with delicious food and encouraging fellowship.  Enjoy the photos!

Taryn and Mirren were gracious in helping us with the loads of dishes!  Thank you, Taryn and Mirren!  And while we ladies were working on the dishes...

...the guys were visiting with Dr. Martin around the table.

We were honored to be able to video interview Dr. Martin (for the second time), and ask a couple more questions we wanted Dr. Martin's perspective on.

During the interview, I'm told, the ladies talked about more interesting topics, such as college, schooling, etc.  (I was manning the video camera during the interview, so I wasn't in on the conversation.)

All in all, we had a fantastic visit, and, as always, it was way too short!  We'll have to do it again soon, it's always an encouragement. 

Creation conference (Oct. 30 - Nov. 1)

At our recent Creation conference (entitled “Evolution: Trick or Treat?”, we had six sessions all together. On Friday night (one session and Dr. John Morris, of the Institute for Creation Research, spoke), Saturday night (two sessions. Dr. John Morris spoke at both of these sessions), Sunday morning Sunday school hour and the worship service (we had Dr. Jobe Martin of Biblical Discipleship Ministries speak at both sessions) and Sunday night Creation Evangelism Tool's director Joel Kautt spoke.

A Visit to the Martins ~

Happy July!

I'm finally getting around to posting about a visit we had with Dr. & Mrs. Martin and their daughters, last Thursday. We had a great 3 hours of visiting and eating a super-salad-lunch! Thank you, Dr. Jobe, Mrs. Jenna Dee, Ms. Taryn and Ms. Mirren, for your hospitality! We are very appreciative.

Answering Darwin Conference - Part 3

Sunday morning we had Dr. Jobe Martin as live guest speaker . He gave his testimony (life story) during the Sunday School hour. We had around 35 people for that service. The presenation he gave during regular service was about the effects of Darwinian ideas on the church, Christian society & the culture at a whole. It was a very informative talk. We had over 50 people for that one.

We had a fellowship meal afterwards, and several of the church families had a chance to visit more extensively with Dr. Martin & his wife.
