Life~

Life. It can be downright hard! It seems like that's just the nature of it after the Fall of Adam back in Genesis 3. Actually, I'm glad that life is not a bed of roses, not a piece of cake. The challenges we receive in life help to mold us, shape our character, and make us stronger... if we allow the Lord to lead us submissively. That can be difficult when we want to do things "our" way. Somethings are learned the hard way... for instance:

  • Being a consistant Christian
  • Baking bread the very first time
  • Trying your very best not to fight we your siblings
  • Learning to walk, falling down but getting up again and trying it again
  • Learning to ride a bike without training wheels
  • Math
  • Loving your family, and being kind to others
  • Reading your Bible on a daily basis, and applying it to your life
  • Learning to drive a car, manual or not :)
  • Obeying the first time your parents ask you... without arguing

The list seems endless, and because we are fallen sinners, living out life in a sin cursed world, in mortal flesh that longs to sin... constantly, we must strive against what our flesh wants! A big chore, so big in fact, that only with Christs help can we overcome our Enemy and his temptations. That's why Paul exhorts us in Ephesians chapter 6:10 to "put on the whole armor of God".

"*Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may br able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints..."

When life gets tough, and you are down, tired or depressed. Remember along with David the Psalmst that "*God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." He is with us at all times, no matter where we are. His grace helps us to be better followers and shining lights for His cause. "*Come unto Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light."

Run to Jesus with your burden, your hard life.... He will help you, He will carry you through.

*Ephesians 6:10-18 [emphasis added];Psalm 46:1; Matt. 11:28-30
