Verse of the Day - Observe the Ants

"Go the the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise, which having no captain, overseer or ruler, provides her supplies in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest. How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you arise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep - so shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, and your need like an armed man." - Proverbs 6:6-11

"There is nothing so ugly as laziness." I have often thought these words myself. So many of our socio-economic problems in this culture are due to a lack of a godly work ethic, a biblical work ethic. How many people are in jail, or on welfare who would not be in those circumstances if they had simply learned how to do good, godly, hard work?

Christian parents must train their sons and daughters how to work hard. They must train them that work not only is necessary, but is also what they'll have to do all their life. They also need to show their children by example that work is fun.

Christian parents also should be reading through the book of Proverbs, and as they do so, they should highlight and memorize passages like Proverbs 6:6-11, and Proverbs 30:25. Maybe parents should even take their children out and observe the ants as an object lesson.
