Verse of the Day - Keep My Words

"My son, keep my words, and treasure my commands within you. Keep my commands and live, and my law as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart. Say to wisdom, 'You are my sister,' and call understanding your nearest kin, that they many keep you from the immoral woman, from the seductress who flatters with her words." - Proverbs 7:1-5

The main defensive weapon a man has against an immoral woman is God's Word written upon his heart and mind. Preferably, a young man will be taught by his parents how to discipline his mind beginning at a young age, and hopefully they will set a good example for him to follow. As Paul tells us,
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:1-2)

How do we renew our minds? By the memorization and recitation of Scripture. We must be actively renewing our mind moment by moment.  All it takes for a person to stumble into deliberate sin is to, but for one moment, let their guard down and stop renewing their mind. Let us resolve to keep God's law as the apple of our eye.
